Porsche Announcement

Back in November of last year, Porsche introduced a new body version for its Taycan family, the Taycan Sport Turismo, however it only announced details about the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo model.

Today the company is finally ready to reveal details about the four other Sport Turismo Taycans. These are the Taycan Sport Turismo, Taycan 4S Sport Turismo, Taycan Turbo Sport Turismo, and Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo. Basically, the options have now grown to include all of the drivetrains you could previously get with the Taycan.

To simplify, think of the Sport Turismo body as a Cross Turismo without all the off-road stuff. The Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo is the highest-performing of the bunch, with a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h (161 mph). If you're looking for the best range, the Taycan 4S Cross Turismo delivers 498 km (309 miles) based on WLTP figures.

Both battery options can be charged from 5% to 80% in 22 minutes and 30 seconds and we have to give Porsche the award for the most precise estimate we've seen yet. Thinking of it another way, with five minutes of charging (on the fastest DC chargers, of course) you can add 100 km (62 miles) of range.

The RWD Taycan Sport Turismo has a maximum output of 300 kW (408 PS) and is optionally available with the Performance Battery Plus and up to 350 kW (476 PS) of power.

The AWD Taycan 4S Sport Turismo has 390 kW (530 PS), or 420 kW (571 PS) with the Performance Battery Plus. The AWD Taycan GTS Sport Turismo has 440 kW (598 PS), the AWD Taycan Turbo Sport Turismo has 500 kW (680 PS), and the AWD Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo develops up to 560 kW (761 PS).

The Sport Turismo has more headroom than the Taycan saloon (45mm), and more over the driver's seat (9mm). The luggage compartment is easier to access too, with a much longer (801mm) opening which is also much higher (543mm) than in the saloon (434mm and 330mm, respectively). The trunk's capacity is 446 liters, or 405 liters if the Bose Surround Sound System is fitted (this is standard for the Turbo and Turbo S). With the rear seats folded down, you get 1,212 liters or 1,171 liters, respectively. There's also an 84-liter frunk.

The panoramic roof with "Sunshine Control" has electric glare protection as a special feature, and it's divided into nine sections that can be individually controlled, making specific parts transparent or opaque. Even when set to opaque, the interior remains "flooded with light".

The Porsche Communication Management system now supports Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay, while the voice assistant is apparently better at understanding instructions, the navigation system calculates more quickly and uses primarily online information when searching, and the Charging Planner is better at using fast charging stations and avoids short charging stops (and it lets you filter stations by performance class).

The Taycan GTS Sport Turismo will become available at the end of February, while the rest of the models are following just three weeks later in mid-March.
