Hyundai Qualcomm

Hyundai and Qualcomm have been working together since 2011, so their latest partnership deal doesn't come as a big surprise. The two companies will now work on developing purpose-built vehicles with Qualcomm being responsible for the infotainment.

Purpose-built vehicles are the type of vehicles produced for specific purposes in the transportation sector, logistics, healthcare and other commercial activities. Qualcomm will integrate its Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit Platforms for connected and smart user experience on board.

The tech giant says that the latest generation Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit Platforms are optimized towards lower power consumption while still delivering great graphics, audio and overall multimedia experience. The company's AI Engine and machine learning integrations can support features such as virtual assistance, adaptive human interfaces and can even recognize natural language for voice commands.

The cars equipped with Qualcomm's infotainment system can also benefit from timely software updates and uninterrupted connectivity. The system supports dual SIM capabilities for improved location services and emergency calls. In addition, the software offers cloud-based integration for companies to keep track of their fleet and manage the said vehicles.

If I were Qualcomm, I would leave the Koreans to enjoy Exynos This collaboration should be very profitable for Qualcomm
