Xiaomi

It's no secret that Xiaomi is working on a new EV model, Lei Jun himself confirmed it on stage a couple of months ago. And even though Xiaomi isn't very vocal about what type of vehicle the company is working on, the reports claim it's an SUV, and we now even have some spy shots that give us an idea of what it looks like.

Expectedly, the vehicle is wrapped up to conceal its exterior, but it's probably safe to assume that it will look a lot like its sedan counterpart. Standing on the same Modena platform, the future SUV will likely look like a beefed-up SU7. Rumors suggest the SUV will offer the same drivetrain options as the SU7 too - SU7 RWD and SU7 Max AWD.

On the other hand, the interior seems to be getting a more noticeable redesign. The central console replaces the buttons and the wireless charging pads with regular cup holders, or at least this particular trim, and the instrument cluster is moved further back on the dashboard. The steering wheel and the central infotainment screen likely remain unchanged.

An announcement is expected by the end of this year, but the actual launch is scheduled for sometime next year. And seeing a prototype on the streets signals that so far, everything is moving smoothly from Xiaomi's perspective.
