Tesla

You would be forgiven for thinking you have magically been transported to Japan. After all, hot food vending is as common over there as Hot-Dog stalls in New York. Tesla is finally listening to its customers who for years were begging to have something to do while waiting for their cars to charge.

Tesla is partnering with BK Group to create 300 self-service lounges across Europe called “bk World”. In addition to those lounges the company will start installing pizza vending machines at the Supercharger stations with 4 already up and running across Bavaria.

The first lounge is located in Endsee and it offers a selection of vending machines for hot and cold drinks, there’s hot and cold food available as well. The lounge looks very modern and is designed and constructed with sustainability in mind. Inside there are plenty of places to sit down and enjoy your food and drink. There are even two quiet rooms with a desk and wireless chargers installed that are perfect for a little bit of work on the go.

There are the usual toilet facilities of course and the access to the lounge is controlled via QR codes. You have to register via the app first in order to be able to access the lounge, which seems pretty fast and straightforward. The lounge is equipped with a playing area with video games for the younger travelers. And if your phone charger broke, the vending machines sell even headphones and phone chargers.

The outside Pizza-Maker is a real winner though, it’s a real success with the public and the company is installing them as quickly as it can in different locations. 7 different pizzas are available and it takes a just over 4 minutes to have your selection baked.

After all these years of waiting, Tesla has finally realized that it can pull more money out of its customers and offer something that they actually need. It’s our human nature, when we wait we still need to keep ourselves busy.

Plenty of space and dedicated quiet rooms for some quick work on the go Plenty of space and dedicated quiet rooms for some quick work on the go

We are social eaters and drinkers and it’s simply a good thing to sit down, relax and have a cup of tea or coffee and something to bite. It forces us to relax after driving for hours which then helps us to refocus. It is a good idea on all levels and we need to see every charging station offering something similar - not just Tesla.

You can charge any EV on a Tesla charger, can you? It's not really a walled garden, unlike Apple "eco"system.
