Tesla now offers turn signal stalk retrofit for the Model 3 in the US

Tesla

Tesla has now started selling a turn signal stalk retrofit for the Model 3 cars that don't have it, following the removal of the stalk with the refreshed Model 3. Clearly, the company has finally heard the feedback loud and clear - people want the turn signal stalk.

At this rate, who knows - maybe we'll get another stalk with gear selection in the future? Let's not get our hopes up. In the meantime, in the US you can purchase the turn signal stalk retrofit for an eye watering $595.

Tesla starts selling turn signal stalk retrofit for the Model 3

This is only compatible with Model 3 cars assembled in 2024 and 2025, and the pack you're purchasing includes the turn signal stalk itself, a new steering wheel, a steering wheel column module, and the installation cost.

The fact that all of that is required, and it's not just an added stalk, does sort of soften the pricing blow somewhat. Interestingly, the turn signal stalk is offered as standard for new Model 3 cars in China, but you'd still need the retrofit if you bought yours at some point in the last couple of years. In the US, however, Tesla is still selling the Model 3 without the turn signal stalk, so if you want it the only way to get it is to pay $595 extra.

I never really saw the "tesla is the apple of the car world" until now. Removing things people actually use, then charging them a ton of money to get that function back is such an Apple thing to do. It's one thing to do it on a smartph...
