Tesla

Tesla's CEO Elon Musk has stated on numerous occasions earlier this year that the company is on track to bring FSD to the European and Chinese markets by the end of 2024. However, there seems to be a slight delay and Tesla's official AI team account confirmed on X that the automaker will likely launch FSD in Q1 2025.

That's, of course, if everything goes to plan and Tesla gets all the regulatory clearance in both markets. Elon Musk has already visited China several times to get the green light from the local governing body in an attempt to launch as early as this September. But plans have apparently changed.

In any case, the approval of FSD is important for the company because it may boost sales in China. Tesla is currently selling the FSD pack for RMB 64,000 ($9,200), while the EAP (Advanced Autopilot) costs half of that but can at least be used in the country.

In addition to the regulations, Tesla might face other issues in China, such as the vast amount of electric scooters and other non-motorized means of transport. They share the same motorized lanes as the rest of the vehicles and the FSD may face issues with those in the busy Chinese cities.
