The Chevrolet Blazer EV ends up almost $10,000 more expensive at dealerships

Chevrolet

The Chevrolet Blazer EV was officially announced a couple of weeks ago with a starting price of $45,000 while the sporty RS trim was supposed to cost $51,995 but as it's rolling into dealerships across the US, the actual price seems to be $60,215. When you add delivery costs, the price hike easily goes beyond $10,000.

It's probably quite frustrating for customers who have already reserved an RS version of the new Blazer. The 2LT AWD iteration of the vehicle is also asking almost $10,000 more as the new price is now $56,715 from the original $47,595.

There's no mention of the base 1LT model, which is supposed to cost $44,995 and be released in Q1 2024. In fact, the release date is now removed and Chevrolet will instead focus on the highest-end SS (Super Sport) trim. The carmaker will likely announce the new pricing of the two once the launch date approaches.

Chevy's sudden price hike is in stark contrast to what the rest of the industry is doing. Due to economic uncertainty, many car manufacturers reduced their prices to combat the increased inventory at dealerships. That's what Ford did with its F-150 Lightning and Tesla with the Model 3.

That's not a blazer... that's a sad take on a once amazing vehicle. Wish chevy would have followed Ford in the bronco return.

This is very disappointing news, I had a reservation for an RS model, but with that price increase is just not a desirable deal, when you compare it to Tesla. I have a Model Y and I wanted something to replace it to get away from Musks crazyness, but...
