Toyota Announcement

Toyota revealed the bZ3C concept at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show with 391 miles range, and that concept just became a reality. Toyota named its new car bZ5, and it's already rolling off FAW Toyota's factory in China.

The pre-orders opened last month, and the vehicle starts at RMB 130,000 (~$18,000) and is offered in two variants - one with a 65.28 kWh battery and one with a 73.98 kWh battery. Both Blade LFP batteries are sourced from BYD. The CLTC driving range, which tends to be more optimistic, is 342 miles and 391 miles, respectively.

The interior is unlike anything we've seen from Toyota so far. It has a large 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen and a clean, minimalist design.

Size-wise, the vehicle is 188.2 inches long, making it a direct competitor to the Model Y in terms of dimensions.

The car is also filled with tech. The bZ5 leverages Momenta 5.0 and offers an intelligent driving system with over 30 features, including city and highway driving assistance, and parking assistance.
