Volkswagen debuted the ID.Cross back in July, but only the version with the bigger 52 kWh battery was available so far. The entry-level 37 kWh configuration was expected this fall, and now Volkswagen is delivering.

The 52 kWh configuration comes with a more powerful 211 hp front-mounted motor, while the 37 kWh battery can be paired with either a 135 hp or 116 hp motor. The 37 kWh + 116 hp version is advertised to have 201 miles range according to WLTP and can charge from 10 to 80% in 23 minutes. The vehicle can also reach speeds of up to 160 km/h, which makes it suitable even for motorways, not just urban commutes.

The entry-level model with a 37 kWh battery and 116 hp peak output is asking €27,995, fitting the promised sub-€28,000 price tag.

The vehicle comes in three tiers: Trend, Life and Style. The standard Trend trim comes with Park Distance Control, smartphone integration via App Connect and a large central infotainment display. The Life and Style packages add more comfort and safety features such as Connected Travel Assist, which uses network data for predictive assisted driving, a Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof and electrically adjustable 12-way seats with massage functions.
