Volkswagen

Today, Volkswagen has announced that it's killing the ID.4 in the US. It will no longer assemble the car at its Chattanooga, Tennessee plant in the US starting in "mid-April". That is the only factory it has in the country.

The ID.4 was the only EV the company was still selling in the US, as the ID. Buzz is taking a gap year until 2027. Speaking of 2027, VW says it will still sell existing stock of the ID.4, and this is interestingly expected to last until next year (probably based on recent sales numbers compared to inventory levels).

A new version of the ID.4 is currently planned for the North American market, VW says without going into any further details. These will be shared at a later date. Anyway, if you're in the US and have always wanted to buy a new current generation ID.4, now is your final chance.
