VW has chosen Scott Keogh as the CEO of its Scout brand. Keogh was the head of VW's North American business and played an integral role in getting VW to get the rights to Scout's brand in the first place.
Scout, or International Harvester Scout (seen in the image of Keogh below), was an off-roader built in the 60s in the US to compete with Jeep. VW acquired the rights to the brand in 2020 after a merger of its trucking company Traton with Navistar.
Now, Scout will be VW's US spinoff that will focus solely on making "True American" electric SUVs and pickups.
Scott Keogh is the CEO of ScoutIt's not clear whether VW will make retro-looking EVs that play homage to the original Harvester Scout, or whether it will go with a modernized look.
Scout is tentatively expected to begin selling up to a quarter million EVs from 2026.
