Xiaomi

A report from the Financial Times, published over the weekend, claimed that Xiaomi and Ford held talks over a potential joint venture to manufacture vehicles in the US and, of course, enter the US market in general.

However, Ford and Xiaomi denied those rumors, calling them "completely false". Moreover, Xiaomi says the company doesn't sell its products and services in the US, and it has no plans to do so with another company.

Xiaomi denies rumors of EV partnership with Ford

Xiaomi's success with its EV venture is undeniable, as the SU7 outsold Tesla's Model 3 in 2025 by as much as 30%, while the YU7 SUV was very well-received by journalists and experts. So those rumors made sense perhaps.

On the other hand, US lawmakers are wary of letting in a Chinese company that produces cars and batteries. The car manufacturing industry is of high importance to the US government, so it will likely try to protect its domestic makers.

Agree with you. If the news is really fake as Xiaomi and Ford confirms, then it is probably spread intentionally to suggest this joint venture.

Xiaomi makes EV cars. USA is hardly interesting for them to make some joint venture with Ford. Xiaomi has more than enough markets to export their cars.
