Avatr 06T wagon teased with new Huawei tech and sleek looks

Avatr

Avatr has officially named its newest car the Avatr 06T. The brand is a team effort between huge battery giant CATL, tech expert Huawei, and car maker Changan. The new model is technically a wagon, but some people might call it a "shooting brake" because of its sporty shape. Wagons are nowhere near as common as they used to be, but they offer a lot of space without looking like a big truck.

Avatr released the first official pictures to show off the name and the general shape. These images confirm that the 06T will use the latest technology from its partners. The car will feature the latest Huawei Qiankun - the "2.0" version of the tech developed by Huawei. The big news is the sensor sitting on the roof. This is the LiDAR unit that acts like a laser eye for the car. It helps the vehicle see the road, other cars, and people very clearly. The 06T will use Huawei's brand-new generation of laser tech, which is part of the ADS 4 driver-assistance system.

The design of the Avatr 06T matches the rest of the Avatr family. Even though the car in the photos had camouflage stickers all over it, we could still see the details. The front of the car looks very much like the other Avatr models. It has thin, modern headlights that give it a sharp look. The roof line slopes down gently toward the back, giving it that "fastback" sporty wagon style.

The sides of the car have some cool modern touches. You won't find traditional big mirrors on the doors. Instead, the 06T uses cameras that show what is behind the car on a screen inside. The door handles are semi-hidden, which helps the car cut through the air more smoothly. Designers gave the back of the car "muscular shoulders," and the taillights appear to go all the way across in one line, but they might be split in the middle like other Avatr cars.

The Avatr 06T will be offered either as a pure electric car or extended-range EV (EREV). In this version, the car has a battery for electric driving, but it also has a small gas engine. This engine does not turn the wheels. Instead, it acts like a generator to charge the battery if it gets low.

Inside the cabin, the tech fest continues. The car uses the HarmonySpace 5 smart cockpit. This system runs the screens and controls most of the functions. It is designed to work smoothly with mobile phones and other devices. The Avatr 06T will have to fight for its place in the market when it arrives in April. It will compete with other sharp-looking EVs like the Zeekr 007 GT or Nio ET5 Touring.
