Avatr

It seems that not a day goes by without a new entrant to China's blossoming electric vehicle landscape. The Avatr 07 has been officially unveiled, available in both fully electric (BEV) and range-extended (EREV) variants.

The EREV model boasts the latest Kunlun range extender system, combining a 1.5l turbocharged engine with an electric motor. This setup delivers 231 kW in the rear-wheel-drive version, with the four-wheel-drive model getting an additional 131 kW front motor. A 39.05 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery promises a range of up to 143 miles, depending on the drivetrain.

On the pure electric front, the BEV version offers two powertrain choices. The rear-wheel-drive model offers 252 kW output, while the four-wheel-drive variant adds a 188 kW front motor. The CLTC range reaches404 miles in the RWD version.

The Avatr 07 features an all-aluminum dual-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension with a cast aluminum full-frame subframe. Add to that multiple driving modes and adjustable air suspension, and you have an SUV that seems ready to tackle various road conditions.

The Avatr 07 has a more striking design compared to its siblings, the Avatr 11 and Avatr 12. The HALO interactive screen, an LED display with 10,500 light beads stretching across the front, adds a touch of futuristic flair. The electric version also gets an active grille for improved aerodynamics.

Measuring 190 inches long, 78 inches wide, and 63.8 inches high, with a 115.7 inches wheelbase, the Avatr 07 comes with either 20 or 21-inch wheels and a traditional rear window design, unlike the Avatr 12's windowless rear. Storage is generous, with a 3.18 ft³ frunk and a 17.7 ft³ trunk. Hidden compartments under the rear cargo floor provide an additional 2.12 ft³ of storage.

The cabin offers up to four screens: a 15.6-inch central control screen, a 35.4-inch 4K display for rear passengers, and two optional 6.7-inch screens for digital side mirrors. Huawei's HarmonyOS 4.0 powers the infotainment system, while zero-gravity massage seats, a 25-speaker sound system, and an electric sunshade complete the premium feel.

The Avatr 07 starts at RMB 219,900 ($31,400).
