BMW is gearing up for a productive fall season with a series of exciting updates across its model range. The spotlight shines brightly on the new BMW i5 xDrive40 Touring, the third drivetrain for the wagon. This all-wheel-drive outputs 394 hp and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in a swift 5.5 seconds. It offers range of up to 323 miles on a single charge on the WLTP cycle.

It can charge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes at a DC fast-charging station. The i5 Touring also supports AC charging at up to 22 kW, making overnight charging at home a breeze.

BMW is also introducing new exterior color options and interior trim choices for both the 5 Series Touring and Sedan. A striking new BMW Individual Frozen Portimao Blue metallic and other BMW Individual paint finishes will be available starting in November 2024. Inside, M Sport package cars with the additional Comfort Package will gain luxurious M multifunction seats, and an M Alcantara Anthracite headlining is now optional for an even sportier feel.

Tech-savvy drivers will also appreciate the over-the-air software updates coming this fall. These updates will bring new and improved functions to a wide range of current BMW models, tailored to each specific model variant and vehicle specification. The BMW Digital Key is also getting an upgrade, with the new "Sharing in a Chain" function allowing for more flexible sharing of keys with graduated rights.

In-car entertainment is stepping up its game, too. Select BMW models produced since July 2023 will gain access to video streaming and in-car gaming on the main display. A growing number of streaming services will be available, and BMW's partnership with AirConsole will bring the gaming experience to more vehicles. Passengers can enjoy casual games while the car is stationary, using their smartphones as controllers.

BMW's latest OS 9 is making charging even more convenient. In Germany, drivers can now pay for electricity directly from their cars at participating DC stations. The system also simplifies the search for public charging stations with new quick filters and detailed information about each location.
