Dongfeng

The Dongfeng Nano Box is one of a few cars made in the same factory in China and which are sharing most of their specs. The others are the Dacia Spring, Renault City K-ZE, Aeolus EX1, Fengxing T1, Fengguang E1, and Venucia e30. So if when you look at the Nano Box it feels familiar, it's probably the similarity to the Dacia Spring that's creating that effect.

The Dongfeng Nano Box was launched last July with great success, starting at CNY 65,700 (around $9,750 at the time) and receiving more than 10,000 orders in the first day. From now on, the Nano Box will be even cheaper in China, which is a remarkable feat considering how affordable it was to begin with.

The entry-level model can now be yours for only CNY 59,700, which currently equates to about $8,900 or €8,200. There's a mid-range model for CNY 61,700 ($9,200, €8,500), and the top of the line version is offered for CNY 64,700 ($9,650, €8,900). This means that the most expensive version is now cheaper than the cheapest one was when the car made its debut. Talk about affordability!

As you might expect if you know anything about the Dacia Spring, you don't really get a lot for the money. The Nano Box has a single motor that develops 33 kW (45 PS) of power, and a maximum torque of 125 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h (31mph) in 6 seconds. A time to 100 km/h is not given, and that may be for the best. The battery has 27.2 kWh capacity, and charges from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes.

Inside, you get a 7-inch instrument cluster display and a 10-inch infotainment screen, as well as dual-color design, like on the outside. The car has four (2+2) seats. It's 3,732 mm (146") long, 1,579 mm (62.1") wide, and 1,515 mm (59.6") tall, with a 2,423 mm (95.3") wheelbase.

If the cost is around 8400 EUR, then double the price for desired profit margin to 16800 and add VAT (4200) and there you have 21 000. Just kidding, as I have no clue about the actual costs of this thing :-) In Romania it was available for as lo...
