Zeekr Announcement

Geely's Zeekr brand has been busy expanding its portfolio, and after unveiling its first electric MPV earlier this year, the Mix is finally ready for orders.

This innovative electric minivan launched in China yesterday with a starting price of RMB 279,900 (approximately $39,250).

The Mix is powered by a rear-axle electric motor that delivers a peak power of 310 kW (415 hp), allowing this family minivan to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.8 seconds. The standard battery is a 76 kWh LFP pack that provides a range of 342 miles. It can then charge from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes. A larger 102 kWh NMC battery option is also available, offering an extended range of 435 miles. Of course, these are CLTC numbers, and as such, they need to be taken with a sizable pinch of salt.

With dimensions of 183.8 inches in length, 78.5 inches in width, 69.9 inches in height, and a wheelbase of 118.4 inches, the Mix offers ample space for passengers and cargo. Its front wheels can turn more than 50 degrees, resulting in an impressive turning radius of 194.88 inches.

Built on Geely's SEA-M modular architecture, the Mix offers an industry-leading interior space utilization rate of 93%. To put that into perspective, the average SUV has a utilization rate below 70%.

The Mix introduces a unique approach to passenger access with two sliding doors on the front passenger side. This unconventional design creates a wide 1480 mm entrance, making it easier for passengers to enter and exit the vehicle. Inside, the Mix comfortably seats five passengers, with front seats that can swivel 270 degrees for added versatility. The cabin offers ample headroom with a height of 53.1 inches and a floor height of only 15.4 inches.

Zeekr has also incorporated several innovative features to enhance the passenger experience. A movable center tunnel with a built-in table and refrigerator adds a touch of luxury and practicality. The Mix offers nine different seating configurations, allowing owners to customize the space to their needs. The seats can even be folded down to create a bed, making the Mix ideal for road trips and adventures.

A large floating screen, with a manually adjustable angle, dominates the center console, complemented by a smaller LCD instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. An augmented reality head-up display provides drivers with essential information without distraction. Additionally, the Mix features an advanced AI system that enables passengers to control various car functions through voice commands from anywhere in the cabin.

Equipped with a LiDAR sensor on the roof, the Mix supports Zeekr's Haohan 2.0 driving assist system, capable of autonomous operation on highways and urban roads. Zeekr's NZP system, which will soon operate without high-precision maps, will allow the Mix to navigate autonomously on virtually any road. An enhanced autonomous parking system further simplifies the driving experience.

To keep things simple, Zeekr has opted to offer the Mix in a single, all-inclusive trim level. Customers can choose from five exterior colors, two interior shades, and three different wheel variants. The 76 kWh battery version costs RMB 279,900, and the 102 kWh version goes for RMB 299,900 (just over $42,000).

I saw the reviews. It's a really nice MPV and not too conventional. If I'd nitpick, its the automated/powered seats. Wish they were manually operated so it moves faster, cheaper, lighter and maybe, a user removeable front passenger seat.
