Faraday Future

You've probably heard of the electric vehicle company Faraday Future and its flagship FF 91 model. And if you haven't, let's take a little stroll down Memory Lane.

Remember 2017? It was the year when the FF 91 first made its grand debut. It looked promising and ambitious, with its glossy veneer and impressive features. It promised us the moon – or at least an electric vehicle that could sprint from zero to 60 mph faster than you can finish this sentence.

Faraday Future FF 91 - the future on wheels finally arrives

But life happened, as it tends to do, and Faraday Future stumbled along the way. A production date set for 2018 turned into a wait that we are yet to see the end of.

Fast forward to today: the FF 91 is finally ready to hit the streets. After five years, multiple hurdles, and enough drama to fill a Netflix series, the FF 91 has passed all compliance and system tests. It has made it through the rigorous Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) crash test requirements too, clearing the final hurdle.

The FF 91 is now poised to start the second phase of deliveries this August, with the first group of co-creation users slated to get their hands on the wheel in the same month. Sure, the timeline got pushed a little from the end of Q2 2023, but let's just chalk that up to the growing pains.

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but the wait seems to be worth it. The FF 91 comes with a 142 kWh battery, an impressive range of 381 miles as per EPA standards, and a rocket-like acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.27 seconds. It also supports a charging capacity of up to 500A. And if that doesn't make your inner car enthusiast smile, we're not sure what will.

With the FF91 Faraday Future is intent on making a dent in the premium segment. The ambitious price tag of $309,000 for the FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance Edition one was bound to expect something extraordinary.

After that Faraday Future has plans for more affordable models like the FF81 and FF71. Here's hoping those don't take as long to arrive.

Faraday Future FF 91 - the future on wheels finally arrives

Faraday Future FF91 is finally ready to make good on the promise of a vehicle that is born for the future. It's been a long road – filled with drama and delays – but the second phase of delivery is upon us so hopefully it all goes smoother from here.
