Following the recent introduction of AI-powered lane guidance in Google Maps, today Polestar is announcing another collaboration with Google, this time to bring the Gemini AI assistant to all of the Swedish brand's models.
Gemini will replace Google Assistant, and it will be showcased at Slush in Helsinki, Finland, on November 19 and November 20.
Gemini will arrive on all Polestar models "through a future Google update", "from 2026 onwards", Polestar's press release says. The first language in which it will be supported is US English.
Gemini integrates generative AI features and lets you have a more natural conversation with it than you were ever able to with the Google Assistant. Gemini Live will also be supported in Polestar cars - this is Gemini's live (hence the name) conversation mode, where you can go back and forth, chatting with Gemini just as you would with a friend. To activate Gemini Live, you just need to say "Hey Google, let's talk".
