Jeep introduces the rugged Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept

Jeep

Earlier today Jeep unveiled the Wagnoeer S all-electric SUV for the North American market, and at the same time the brand also presented the rugged-looking Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept.

Unlike the Wagoneer S, the Trailhawk is a concept so it won't see the light of day as is. It's meant as a showcase of what Jeep can accomplish when it sets out to blend its authentic brand design inside and out with "all-electric 4xe capability".

The Trailhawk can "easily transition from the pavement to off-roading terrain showcasing the flexibility of the STLA Large platform and Jeep Wagoneer S lineup", the brand explains in its official press release.

Jeep says the Trailhawk concept is meant to be a go-anywhere, do-anything SUV. It has a lifted suspension and an aggressive front and rear design with heavy-duty tow hooks and functional air extractors which are meant to improve performance in high pressure zones at high speeds.

The iconic Jeep grille is represented here in a bolder rugged look with textured slots and Storm Gray metallic accents, while the concept's Banner exterior color "is loaded with rugged features designed for the toughest adventures". You get an anti-glare hood decal, flush badging "inspired by modern aircraft", front and rear orange tow hooks, unique 18" wheels, a laser-cut aluminum roof rack, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

Inside there's Mantis Green non-leather synthetic material all over accented with metorite-inspired real stone veneer. You also get some Storm dark metallic accents and Radical Red anodizing. The redesigned octagonal steering wheel lets the driver "easily lock in their preferred hand position for precise control".

The instrument panel has a cross-car grab bar for passenger stability off road, with exposed fasteners and 1/4-20 threaded inserts to mount gear, devices, or accessories. The heated and ventilated front seats are aggressive while retaining "a balance of sport and luxury appointments" from the standard Wagoneer S.

The doors and center console have a new modular cargo management system with re-configurable elastic straps, and the center console has a large storage bin with a wireless phone charger and multiple USB ports. And while all of that sounds excellent, it's also 100% pointless since this is just a concept and not a car that will make it to production.
