Kia

Kia's latest and much-anticipated electric sedan, the EV4, has been spotted undergoing testing in Korea, just outside Kia's headquarters. The company has been steadily expanding its electric vehicle lineup, and the EV4 is almost ready for its upcoming global launch.

Spy shots of the camouflaged EV4 reveal a sleek and sporty profile. The production version appears to be very close in design terms to the EV4 concept unveiled in 2023. The sedan boasts a distinctive fastback roofline and bold character lines, giving it a dynamic and modern appearance. While the camouflage obscures specific details, it's clear that the EV4 will maintain Kia's signature "Tiger Nose" grille, albeit with a closed-off design for improved aerodynamics.

The EV4 will be based on Hyundai's E-GMP platform, which underpins other successful EVs like the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5. This platform offers advantages such as a long wheelbase, flat floor, and efficient packaging. The results of this approach offer spacious interiors and ample cargo capacity.

The newest addition to Kia's EV portfolio is likely to feature all the latest connected car technologies, including the ccNC (connected car Navigation Cockpit) infotainment system with dual 12.3-inch screens. Expect a host of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) as well, further enhancing safety and convenience.

Kia EV4 spotted testing in Korea ahead of global launch

Kia has confirmed that the EV4 will be launched around the world, following the successful introductions of the EV3 and EV5 in global markets. The EV4 will join the rest of the lineup to complete Kia's "EVs for all" lineup, offering a diverse range of electric vehicles for different needs and budgets.

Pricing for the EV4 has not been confirmed yet. It's likely to start in the $30,000 to $40,000 range, making it quite an interesting option in the electric sedan market. Thanks to its stylish design, advanced technology, and expected affordability, the EV4 has a decent chance to steal some buyers away from other EV brands.

The latest EV4 sightings in Korea suggest that the official launch is drawing closer, and we won't have to wait much longer to experience Kia's latest electric offering. The production is rumored to start this March, with first deliveries to follow shortly after.

Cannot be soon enough for AI to improve upon human industrial design errors. The AI parameters would be properly adjusted to comfortably seat two full-sized extra-tall adults in the second row. And this is without slouching or head-banging.
