Back in the day, the Kia Stinger was arguably the only model in the automaker's lineup that truly captured the fun of a sporty European sedan, complete with engaging, rear-wheel-drive handling. When Kia ended its production in 2023, it left a big gap. Back then, the company promised an electric version would eventually fill that hole, bringing the excitement of high-performance driving back to the brand.

A dramatic teaser video has just arrived, revealing what appears to be the Stinger's successor - a radical electric fastback that hopes to redefine what a performance EV can be. This shadowy preview reveals a vehicle that looks aggressive and ready for the track. The car's identity is still officially a secret, but the sporty proportions and design language strongly suggest this is the replacement fans have been waiting for.

Unlike many new electric cars, which often take the form of tall crossovers, this new model maintains a low-slung, sweeping fastback profile. Its roofline is sleek, though maybe a bit taller than the original Stinger, resembling the fashionable coupe-like SUVs seen today.

The most shocking design element is how wide the vehicle appears. The flanks bulge out significantly, giving it the imposing look of a car fitted with a widebody kit. It brings to mind the bold, aggressive aesthetics of rally or racing cars that have custom, bolt-on fender flares blended smoothly into the bodywork.
