MG Cybester has made its Chinese debut at the ongoing Chengdu Motor Show. This new striking EV has been making rounds for a while, including an official unveiling in the UK. Still, there were some details missing, and some specifications remained secret. Today, MG has shared some more light on its upcoming electric roadster.

The Cyberster doesn't shy away from flexing its electric muscles. Top-of-the-range version touts two electric motors, churning out a combined 544 hp and 725 Nm. That’s over 100 hp more than the MG4 EV XPOWER has at its disposal. The front motor boasts 204 hp, while the rear chimes in with 340 hp.

Cyberster may look nimble but with its weight tipping the scales at 4,376 lb, it needs all that power. This electric stallion gallops from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 3.2 seconds, boldly stepping on the toes of many supercars.

But speed isn't its only strength. A 77 kWh battery ensures that the Cyberster can cover a commendable 360 miles on a full charge. However, take that with a pinch of salt – these numbers are for the model marketed in China.

There are also 314 hp and 340 hp variants with rear-wheel drive setup. They come with a smaller 64 kWh batteries and promise ranges of 311 miles and 323 miles, respectively. Yet again, remember these are CLTC numbers and the word optimistic doesn’t do justice here.

The MG Cyberster was born out of MG's centennial celebrations. A tribute to 100 years since the original MG's inception. But where the vintage MGs were dainty and delicate, the Cyberster is bold and broad. Its size alone rivals the BMW's Z4. As for design? Gull-wing doors, arrows in the rear lights, and a cockpit that feels more starship than a car. The once light and nimble MG is now a full-size electric supercar.
