Peugeot

Peugeot is preparing for the unveiling of the Inception Concept - the future of electric cars with the lion logo. The date and location have been chosen - January 5 at 2023 CES in Las Vegas. The marketing campaign is off to a good start with a set of rather enigmatic images and press release full of uplifting language.

Reading a press release of an upcoming concept vehicle early in the morning without a sufficient dose of caffeine is quite an interesting experience. It’s as good as watching a Japanese movie and trying to figure out if it’s a comedy or drama, only to find out it’s a documentary.

Large coffee in hand - let’s delve into the depths of the press release from Stellantis announcing the Inception Concept from Peugeot. There’s actually not much to delve into - just one flowery and super-long sentence:

With a new formal language that exalts its feline and attractive attitude, its revolutionary interior design and its promise of unprecedented driving sensations, the PEUGEOT INCEPTION CONCEPT opens a new era based on the brand values, Allure, Emotion and Excellence.

Yikes, that must have taken a lot of effort. What about the images and the video attached to the release? As enigmatic as the sentence above, judge it for yourself here:

Short video and just a couple of images that really don’t tell much - or do they? Well - the front logo is clearly right in the middle of a grille that has the classic, inverted angle - very much like the one on the 2018 Peugeot E-Legend.

Then there are rear lights, the slightly thinner version of what we are used to seeing on all Peugeot models and yet again - very similar to the ones we first saw on the E-Legend back in 2018.

With all that and the fact that Renault and Citroen are reviving their past legends and looking to incorporate old designs into its future cars, is it possible that Peugeot is bringing us another version of its E-Legend electric car? The one that was inspired by the great looking coupe from Peugeot’s past?

We have less than a month left till CES and you can rest assured, the company will keep this marketing train going. There will be more images, there will be more info coming and shortly before the curtain goes up - there will be spy shots showing the car in its full glory. 2023 looks to be off to a great start.
