Avatr just showed off its newest creation, the Avatr 06T - a station wagon. Many electric cars today look like bubbles or tall SUVs, but this one sits low to the ground and looks ready for a racetrack. First official images reveal an EV in a bright new orange color that is hard to miss. This model is based on the older Avatr 06 sedan, but it brings some big changes that people have been asking for.
The biggest surprise is actually at the back of the car. Avatr became notorious for making cars without a rear window. Drivers had to use cameras to see what was behind them. Many people did not like that. Thankfully, on the Avatr 06T, the company changed its mind. It now has a normal glass window in the back and even a small wiper. The designers also hid the wiper under a spoiler on the roof to keep the car looking smooth. This "pragmatic retreat" shows that the company is finally listening to what drivers want.

Size matters when you are buying a family car, and the Avatr 06T is bigger than the sedan version - it measures {{4,940 mm }} long. It is 77.2 inches wide and 58.1 inches tall. Because of that long roof, people sitting in the back get 0.59 inches extra space above their heads. The car also has a long wheelbase of 115.7 inches, providing plenty of legroom for everyone inside.
If you like speed, this wagon has plenty of it. The high-performance version uses three electric motors - one sits in the front and two sit in the back. Together, they deliver 712 kW, which is about 955 hp - that is an incredible amount of power for a car that is supposed to carry groceries. To handle all that power, the car uses a big battery with 89.33 kWh capacity. On a full charge, it can travel over 460 miles according to the optimistic Chinese testing standards.

Since not everyone wants a pure electric car, Avatr is also offering an EREV version. It has a smaller battery and a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that acts like a portable generator. This version has a 45.06 kWh battery and can go 205 miles on electricity alone before the gas engine needs to help out.
Inside, there is a giant screen that stretches across the entire base of the windshield - 35.4 inches of uninterrupted display. Right in the middle of the dashboard, there is another 15.6-inch touchscreen for the driver to control the music and maps. The car uses Huawei's latest HarmonySpace 5.0. The door handles are also new. Instead of being completely flush with the car, they are "semi-hidden." This change was made to make it easier for people to open the doors during an emergency.

Safety and smart driving are big selling points here. The Avatr 06T is the first car to use a new ADAS called Qiankun 2.0. It features a very powerful 192-line LiDAR sensor on the roof that looks like a small watchtower. It can "see" objects up to 820 ft away - a 20% improvement over the older sensors.
You can expect to see the Avatr 06T on the streets very soon. The official launch is planned for May 2026, right around the May Day holiday in China. The company has not given an exact price yet, but we think it will cost between RMB 200,000 and RMB 280,000 - that is roughly $28,000 to $39,000. For a car with nearly 1,000 hp and the latest technology, that price is quite competitive. It will be interesting to see if this fast, orange wagon can convince people to trade in their SUVs.
