Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Nio held its annual Tech Day event, IN 2024, showcasing a wide range of innovations in the field of electric cars.

At the heart of Nio's innovations is the Shenji NX9031, the industry's first 5 nm high-level smart driving chip that the company unveiled at the start of the year. This chip, set to be used in Nio's ET9 sedan in 2025, is reportedly capable of processing the equivalent of four industry flagship chips, significantly boosting image processing and AI capabilities.

The company also revealed the Nio World Model (NWM), a generative smart driving model capable of predicting and making driving decisions, and NAD Arch 2.0, an architecture that uses raw sensor data to generate driving decisions, promising a safer, more human-like smart driving experience.

This being Nio Tech Day, the company also unveiled the second-generation Nio Phone, an Android smartphone boasting a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and a custom 6.82-inch curved screen. The phone features an improved cooling system, advanced vehicle interaction capabilities, and the NOMI GPT virtual voice assistant, all starting at a competitive price of RMB 6,499 (around $900).
