Peugeot Announcement

Peugeot added a couple of key products to its EV lineup with the announcement of the new e-3008 and e-5008 Long Range models. These electric SUVs promise impressive driving ranges of 435 miles and 415 miles, respectively, making them the longest going in the company's lineup.

The two SUVs will be making their grand debut at the upcoming 2024 Paris Motor Show, where visitors will have the opportunity to experience them for the first time. The e-3008 and e-5008 Long Range models are equipped with "made in France" batteries, designed to deliver exceptional performance while minimizing environmental impact, according to the official press release.

The headline feature of these new models is their extended range, which surpasses that of any other SUV currently on the market, according to Peugeot.

Both the e-3008 and e-5008 Long Range models feature the latest 230 hp/170 kW electric motor, with its improved efficiency. This new powertrain complements the existing 210 hp/157 kW option in the lineup. Additionally, Peugeot has introduced a new battery pre-conditioning system that optimizes charging times on long journeys.

The e-3008 Long Range sports 96.9 kWh usable battery capacity and up to 160 kW DC power charging. This enables it to go from 20% to 80% charge in just 27 minutes or add 150 km of range in about 10 minutes.

The e-5008 Long Range can accommodate up to seven passengers while still offering an impressive 415 miles driving range. This makes it an ideal choice for families and those who frequently travel with a larger group. It matches the charging speed of the e-3008.

Both the e-3008 and e-5008 Long Range models come with an 8-year/99,400 miles warranty under the Peugeot Allure Care program. It covers the entire vehicle, including the electric motor, charger, transmission, and key electrical and mechanical components. The high-voltage battery has its an extra warranty of its own.

The entry-level e-3008 210 FWD starts at just over $56,200, while the larger e-5008 comes with a $58,760 starting price. Are we about to see a $70,000+ Peugeot for the first time ever?

They should release a cheaper 150 miles range variant as well with 30kwh or 40kwh battery. Instead of bigger batteries they should have a 5C fast charging battery (12 minutes full charge) and set up fast charging stations.
