Peugeot Announcement

Peugeot has refreshed the E-308 and E-308 SW today, and the brand seems to have decided that capitalizing that "E" in the names is important.

Additionally, it's given them a bigger battery - by 8.6%, to be exact. It went from 51 kWh usable capacity to 55.4 kWh. Thanks to this, the WLTP combined cycle range is now advertised to be 280 miles.

The battery charges at up to 100 kW on a DC charger, and if you go there you'll get from 20% to 80% in 32 minutes, and Plug & Charge is supported too. AC charging is covered by a three-phase onboard charger that goes up to 11 kW. Vehicle-to-load is supported too (providing up to 3.5 kW and 16 A) but with an adapter sold separately by Peugeot dealers.

The powertrain remains unchanged, developing a maximum of 115 kW (156 hp) and 199 lb-ft of torque. The cars receive an 8-year or 99,400 miles warranty. They are designed and produced in France.

The front Peugeot lion emblem is now illuminated, a first for the brand, and it's incorporated into a new body-color grille design with a new three-claw light signature. On the rear there are three inclined LED claws on each side of the "elegant black lacquered band above the Peugeot emblem", the brand says.

New 18" diamond-cut alloy wheels are standard, "bringing elegance, innovation, and aerodynamics". There are two new body colors: Lagoa Blue on the E-308 and Ingaro Blue on the E-308 SW.

Inside, there are "elegant new graphics" on the instrument cluster, and five "i-Toggles" integrated into "an elegant black band under the central touchscreen". These can be configured as shortcuts to various settings for air conditioning, contacts, radio stations, navigation, and more.

Eight-color customizable ambient lighting is also present, extending from the dashboard to the door panels, and the second-row seats can be split in three parts (40/20/40), with folding controls in the trunk, which has 21.1 ft³ capacity in the SW.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and you can find four USB-C ports inside (two for the front, two for the back). There's also support for over-the-air software updates, and a trip planner that takes into account charging on the way.

The new E-308 and E-308 SW order books are set to open this autumn.

It's a great car. I've had mine for a year and the efficiency is showing 4.2mkwh. The interior is also really good quality. Everyone who's been in it has been impressed at how good it looks and rides. These improvements made it b...

I love that their interior looks like someone actually thought about it, and not slapped screens in a row, as everyone else does.

what I lack is: WLTP is WLTP, but how much range can you get between these 20% and 80%? I mean - if I go for a longer ride, how often do I need to take this 30 minutes break? I drive now a mild-hybrid diesel sw. On occassion, with fully loaded 60l ...
