Porsche teams up with Ferragamo for special anniversary

Porsche

In a world where collaborations can often feel forced, Porsche has teamed up with Italian fashion house Ferragamo to create a pair of special-edition cars celebrating Porsche Italia's 40th anniversary. But this isn't just about slapping a fancy logo on a dashboard - this is a deep dive into custom colors and materials, creating something uniquely Italian yet with German DNA. The two models getting the high-fashion treatment are the 911 Carrera 4 GTS and the all-electric Porsche Taycan 4S.

The partnership might seem odd at first glance. What does a German sports car company have in common with a brand famous for making shoes for Hollywood legends? According to both companies, it's a shared history of turning dreams into reality. Salvatore Ferragamo, the "shoemaker of dreams," and Ferry Porsche, who realized his vision with the 356 Roadster, were both pioneers. It is a bit of a marketing stretch, but the result is spectacular.

The star of this collaboration is a new color: Blusogno. Translating to "blue dream," this specific shade was developed by Porsche's Paint to Sample Plus program, inspired by leather and fabric from Ferragamo's collections. The color is used on the exterior of both the 911 and the Taycan, extending to the wheels, which are accented with hand-painted white pinstripes. Even the model lettering at the rear is hand-painted in white and outlined in Blusogno - it's a level of detail that whispers luxury.

Step inside, and the Blusogno theme continues, but with a surprising twist. The seats, steering wheel, and center console details are wrapped in leather of this special blue hue. But the real conversation starter is the wood trim. Porsche, apparently encouraged by Ferragamo, used Paldao wood and dyed it blue. This is a first for the automaker and a nod to Salvatore Ferragamo's history of experimenting with unconventional materials. The vast wooden surfaces on the door panels feature a two-tone design, with the blue Paldao on top and black below. White illuminated Ferragamo logos on the door sills remind you this is no ordinary Porsche.

Of course, no special edition is complete without commemorative badges. Both cars feature a subtle plaque on the B-pillars marking the "40 Anni Porsche Italia" anniversary, with the years 1985-2025. Inside, the 911 has an aluminum inlay on the passenger side dashboard, while the Taycan EV features the logo on a plaque in the center console. Even the SportChrono clock gets a bespoke touch, with its dial rings subtly colored in the green, white, and red of the Italian flag. It's a quiet celebration, visible only to those who know where to look.

These highly customized Porsches will be a rare sight, available in very limited numbers and exclusively for the Italian market. The company has not released pricing, but given the level of craftsmanship from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and the association with a luxury brand like Ferragamo, we expect a serious premium over the standard models.
