Report claims Maruti Suzuki has picked Qualcomm's new Snapdragon chips for future cars

Maruti Suzuki Qualcomm Rumors

New report claims that Maruti Suzuki will partner with Qualcomm for its next generation of smart vehicles. This hasn’t been officially confirmed by the two companies yet, but it is likely about the new Snapdragon Cockpit Elite and Ride Elite chips.

Like other new Snapdragon chips, these are based on the Oryon CPU, combined with Qualcomm’s powerful GPU and NPU, plus advanced audio and display features. Each chip has different responsibilities, however.

Snapdragon Cockpit Elite will run the infotainment system, while Snapdragon Ride Elite handles anything related to the car’s operation, including self-driving systems.

Just yesterday, Suzuki unveiled the new e-Vitara, which will be sold in India, Europe and Japan in spring 2025. There were few details on the electronics inside the car, however, so it’s not clear whether or not it uses Qualcomm chips.

A couple of Indian car makers have already announced partnerships with Qualcomm – Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors. The Snapdragon chips will be used in cars like the Mahindra Scorpio-N and XUV700, as well as Tata Curvv.ev.

What do you mean couple of Indian car makers? There are only 2 makers xD Tata and Mahindra. Maruti Suzuki is a JV
