Changan

The automotive world has seen its fair share of innovation, but Changan's Nevo E07 is turning heads with its unique blend of versatility and technology. This electric SUV is a real-life transformer capable of switching between SUV and pickup truck modes.

First revealed back in 2022 as a wild concept, this mid-to-large SUV boasts a spacious interior with a length of 16.552 ft, a width of 6.549 ft, and a wheelbase of 10.24 ft. That means plenty of legroom and cargo space, whether you're hauling passengers or gear. Plus, with its air suspension system, the Nevo E07 can adjust its height on the fly.

The Nevo E07 features advanced driver-assistance systems, including Level 2+ autonomous driving capabilities. But the real showstopper is the in-vehicle satellite communication system – a world first, according to Changan. This system, along with a suite of sensors and a powerful NVIDIA Orin-x chip, ensures the Nevo E07 is always connected and aware of its surroundings.

The shape-shifting SUV comes in two flavors: EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) and EV (pure electric). The EREV models offer a choice of single-motor or dual-motor configurations, both supported by a 1.5T range extender. This setup provides a combined range of up to 124 miles on electric power alone, with the gasoline engine kicking in to extend that range even further.

The EV models, on the other hand, rely solely on battery power. These models also come in single-motor and dual-motor versions, with ranges varying from 342 miles to an impressive 620 miles. And thanks to 800V high-voltage fast charging, you can add 365 km of range in just 15 minutes.

Inside the Nevo E07, you'll find a minimalist cabin that's both stylish and functional. There's no traditional instrument panel; instead, a 28.86-inch AR-HUD system and a 15.4-inch central control screen handle all the information and entertainment. The steering wheel features scroll buttons, and the center console houses two cup holders and a wireless charging pad.

Changan has opened pre-sales for the Nevo E07 in China, with prices ranging from $35,400 for the EREV Max version to $45,400 for the EV Ultra high-performance version. Mass production is set to begin in October, with deliveries expected in the fourth quarter of 2024.
