Tesla

Tesla has cut the prices of its Model S and Model X in the US for the second time this year.

As seen on Tesla's website, the Model S AWD is now $89,990 - down by $5,000 or around 5.2%. The Model S Plaid now retails for $109,990 - down from $114,990.

The Model X gets an even steeper price cut - 9.1% or $10,000. It's now $99,990, down from $109,990. The Plaid version is $109,990, down from $119,990 (8.3%).

Neither EV qualifies for the $7,500 federal tax incentive, which is up at the end of this month, but the Model 3 and Y both do.

Tesla's price cuts are seen as an effort to boost sales before the end of the quarter. Per Elon Musk, people's desire to own a Tesla is "extremely high", but their "ability to pay for a Tesla" is the limiting factor.
