Tesla's new software update unveils an array of innovative features

Tesla

Exciting times are ahead for Tesla owners as the company rolls out a substantial software update brimming with novel features and enhancements. Among these are the anticipated 'Charge on Solar', a Spotify facelift, multi-angle camera functionality, and a plethora of others.

Perhaps the most anticipated of all these is 'Charge on Solar'. This eco-friendly feature gives Tesla owners the ability to power their vehicles using solar energy, provided they have a Powerwall installed. Users can fine-tune the ratio of charging between solar and other energy sources via the Tesla app. Though glimpses of this feature were seen earlier this year, it's only now that it's officially launched.

In a bid to enhance in-car entertainment, Tesla has revamped its in-built Spotify application. Now, users can effortlessly access and play their favorite Spotify music, playlists, podcasts, and audiobooks in a user-friendly interface. The catch, however, is that this feature necessitates a premium connectivity subscription.

The automatic headlights feature marks another significant stride in Tesla's automation journey. With this update, headlights will automatically light up when the windshield wipers are turned on, given that the headlights are set to 'auto' mode.

A helpful addition to Tesla's navigation system is the 'Destination Closing Soon' function. This feature notifies drivers if their planned destination is likely to close soon or may already be closed upon arrival, helping to avoid unnecessary trips.

Next up is the option to use Bluetooth game controllers in Tesla's Arcade. Previously, controllers had to be connected through USB, but now, connecting them has become a breeze via Bluetooth, particularly with PS5 controllers.

With the 'Camera View on Tesla App', users can now monitor multiple camera feeds simultaneously while checking their vehicle’s surroundings, enhancing safety and convenience. This feature requires the Mobile App version 4.22.5 and premium connectivity.

The new update also caters to the comfort of users' eyes with the 'Warmer Display Colors' function. This setting enables the touchscreen to automatically adapt to warmer colors at night to reduce blue light exposure.

Notably, Tesla has made a shift in its update policy and now enumerates even minor changes rather than leaving users to discover them on their own. From more precise sliders for volume, temperature, and charge limit adjustments, to the Sentry Mode that records attempts to open a locked vehicle, the update brings a wide range of improvements.

Also included in the update are easily accessible Owner's Manual and Release Notes through the new Manual app, an automatic navigation feature showing more destination details, and the availability of a Swiss-French keyboard.

While these updates herald a thrilling evolution in Tesla's user experience, remember that their rollout may take some time to reach all models and regions.
