Lucid

Tesla's well-documented recent troubles have been great news for its competitors, and Lucid is one of the carmakers that seems to have benefited from people turning away from Elon Musk's company due to his political views.

Lucid delivered 3,109 cars in the first quarter of the year (January to March), which is 28% more than in Q1 of 2024. It's just 10 more cars than in Q4 2024, but it is still a new record for the startup.

Tesla's troubles gave Lucid a record quarter

According to Lucid CEO Marc Winterhoff, 50% of the orders the company is seeing right now are from Tesla owners looking to switch. While Tesla owners have always been a source of customers for Lucid, the current situation is unprecedented.

Lucid built 2,212 cars in Arizona and has an additional 600 units in transit to Saudi Arabia, where they will be assembled at the company's facility there.

All the cars delivered in Q1 were Air sedans of various trims, since mass production for the Gravity SUV is intended to start next month at the earliest, with the first demo units scheduled to be finalized this month.
