Xiaomi

Yesterday Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun posted a cryptic teaser on X and today the brand has already revealed what the mystery was all about. As someone in the comments of the teaser speculated, it's actually a new color for the SU7, Xiaomi's first car, which already exceeded 130,000 deliveries in just a few months since its launch.

The new color will be available on January 1 through the Xiaomi EV app, and, as you can see, is very red. This will be a limited edition color meant to celebrate Xiaomi's 15th anniversary.

The company was founded in April 2010, and so we expect the entirety of 2025 (or at least the first three-four months) to be all about the anniversary.

The SU7 was first announced on December 28, 2023, when Lei Jun mentioned that Xiaomi wants to be a top five car company in terms of sales within 20 years.

The full launch happened on March 28 with the standard, Pro, and Max versions, and the SU7 Ultra hypercar followed - pre-orders for it started on October 29. SU7 non-Ultra deliveries began in April, and the Ultra is expected to launch in March, followed by the YU7 SUV at some later point next year - most likely around June-July.

As a gentleman car buyer, hot pink would never be a choice regardless of it being only the skin on the vehicle. They're trying to sell this colour as attractive? Focus on your target; it's not peeps like me.
