Zeekr

Zeekr has unveiled yet another set of photos of the MIX, a compact electric MPV that blends MPV practicality with SUV-like styling. The MIX, set to launch later this year, has been stirring a lot of opinions with its unique design and innovative features.

The latest set of the official photos of the MIX reveals significant changes from earlier prototypes and official listings. The most noticeable difference are the flush door handles, instead of no visible handles at all in the first official images. The front light cluster has been redesigned as well. These modifications suggest Zeekr is prioritizing practicality and user-friendliness.

The MIX cleverly offers a compact footprint with dimensions of 184.6 inches in length, 78.5 inches in width, and 69.1 inches in height, maximizing interior space with a generous 118.4 inches wheelbase. Built on Geely Group's Haohan-M platform, a variant of the SEA architecture, the MIX offers flexible seating configurations. While initially listed as a five-seater, a six-seater version has already been spotted, and a luxurious four-seater layout with independent rear seats and a movable island console is coming as well.

The MIX is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing a peak power of 310 kW (415 horsepower), propelling the vehicle to a top speed of 112 mph. It is the same electric motor we find in the Zeekr 007, with which the MIX shares a lot of components. The 77 kWh NCM battery pack, sourced from CATL and assembled by Geely in Sichuan Province, provides a CLTC-estimated range of up to 345 miles. The MIX offers a choice of 19 or 20-inch wheels and weighs between 5,818 lb and 6,038 lb depending on the configuration.

High-spec versions of the MIX will come equipped with LiDAR for enhanced safety and autonomous driving. The front of the vehicle features Zeekr's Stargate, a 90-inch long smart light screen composed of 1,711 high-power LEDs, similar to the one found on the Zeekr 007.

Zeekr aptly named the MIX to represent its fusion of MPV and SUV characteristics. While Chinese media have dubbed it a crossover between the two segments, its design leans more towards an MPV. The MIX stands out with its pillarless design, double sliding doors on the passenger side, and swiveling front seats with integrated seat belts for added convenience.

Zeekr's focus on practicality and family-oriented features makes the MIX an attractive option for those looking for a versatile and yet stylish electric vehicle. It will be interesting to see how it fares in the world's most competitive EV market, and whether it will be available outside mainland China. There is no word on pricing yet, but with the MIX ready for an official debut, we won't have to wait too long for the final piece of the puzzle.
