BMW

It's been almost a year since the BMW i5 came to be and now the company is releasing the first fully electric i5 Touring version as well. The station wagon form factor is heating up lately with Nio bringing the ET5 Touring earlier this year and VW introducing its ID.7 Tourer a few months ago.

The new BMW i5 Touring comes in two configurations - M60 xDrive and the eDrive40. The former is the top model with up to 313 miles of range, depending on the configuration and 442 kW/601 hp maximum output. The eDrive40, on the other hand, runs on a 250 kW/340hp-capable motor with up to 348 miles range. The battery capacity is 81.2 kWh.

The company also announced plans to add two PHEV models to the existing i5 Touring lineup - 530e Touring and 530 xDrive Touring. Two PHEV sedans are also in the works - 530e and 530e xDrive. All four models will run on a hybrid system with one electric motor and a petrol engine with 8-speed Steptronic transmission for up to 299 hp combined output. The battery inside will have 19.4 kWh capacity and should be enough to spin the wheels for up to 59 miles on a single charge.
