BMW Vision Neue Klasse X now has an official unveiling date, and it's close

Last week BMW started teasing the upcoming Vision Neue Klasse X, the SUV version of the Vision Neue Klasse sedan concept, which was revealed last September to highlight the upcoming design changes in BMW's future car roster.

Today we finally get an actual date for the Neue Klasse X's unveiling, and it's going to happen this Thursday, on March 21. There's no specific time - perhaps that will be kept for yet another teaser. That said, we do catch a glimpse of the Neue Klasse X's silhouette in the background.

This will be just a concept, but like the sedan Neue Klasse it should give us hints about where BMW's design language is headed in the near to mid-term future.

Hopefully the SUV won't just be a copy of the sedan but on stilts, as it were, and will go its own way. The concept will of course bring a new interior too, which, if we go by the sedan's, should be very minimalistic.

That's not necessarily surprising, since car makers left and right have been going that route for a while now, sometimes even at the expense of the overall user experience and occupants' safety (fiddling around on a touchscreen while driving is illegal in many places if it's your phone's touchscreen, and for good reason, but a lot of new cars practically make you fiddle with a touchscreen to do almost anything, and somehow, in the same world, that's fine).
