BYD's premium brand Denza launched the N9 large SUV back in March 2025, but so far it's only been available as a plug-in hybrid, despite early reports also mentioning an all-electric version. Today, that EV has finally shown up in a regulatory filing that reveals its key specs.
The all-electric N9 has a tri-motor all-wheel drive setup, with a 270 kW front motor and two 310 kW rear motors, for a combined peak output of 890 kW (1,194 hp). That's 210 kW more than the plug-in hybrid flash charging edition that launched in May, and the filing lists a top speed of 149 mph.
The car is 207.5 inches long, 79.9 inches wide, and 72 inches tall, with a 123 inches wheelbase, and its listed curb weight is either 6,845 lb or 7,011 lb - not exactly featherweight territory. Unlike the plug-in hybrid, which only comes with six seats, the EV will be offered in both 5- and 6-seat layouts.
Design-wise, it looks just like the N9 you already know, roof-mounted LiDAR included. A panoramic glass roof and power side steps are standard, it rides on 22-inch wheels, and a two-tone body is among the options. The battery uses LFP cells made by FinDreams, BYD's own battery division, but the filing doesn't disclose its capacity, the driving range, or charging speeds, so we'll have to wait a bit longer for those.
