Skoda

Skoda is ready to expand its electric vehicle portfolio with a new model dubbed Elroq. Slated for a fall 2024 launch, the Elroq is not just another EV; it heralds a new design era for Skoda, dubbed "Modern Solid."

The Elroq, roughly the size of Skoda's Karoq model, showcases a striking new face that is set to become the brand's new signature. A teaser image reveals a wider, flatter grille, christened "Tech-Deck," first seen on the 2022 Vision 7S concept. It is complemented by split headlights incorporating matrix LED bulbs.

Another distinctive feature is the Skoda name prominently displayed on the hood's leading edge, reminiscent of the Range Rover.

First look at Skoda Elroq and its new design language

Built on Volkswagen Group's MEB platform, the Elroq is strictly an EV. While the platform supports all-wheel drive, most buyers are expected to opt for the more affordable single-motor variant. Measuring 177.2 inches in length, it promises ample space for both passengers and cargo.

The Elroq is just the tip of the iceberg for Skoda's EV ambitions. The company plans to launch six new EVs by the end of 2026, significantly expanding its current electric lineup, which consists of the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe. These models will receive a facelift in 2025, incorporating Modern Solid design language elements.

Also in 2025, Skoda will introduce its own version of VW ID.2all, a compact SUV known as the Epiq. Looking further ahead, Skoda plans to release an electric "Combi" wagon and a seven-seat "Space" SUV in 2026, both based on the Vision 7S concept.
