Geely's sub-brand Geome, which the company acquired back in 2019, announced its city-oriented, budget EV Xingyuan, which will rival BYD's popular Dolphin. In a funny twist Geely partners with Haagen-Dazs to offer free ice cream servings when you book a test drive.
Moreover, the Xingyuan comes in ice cream-inspired colors - Vanilla Beige, Basil Green, Berry Powder, Milk White, Mousse Silver, Truffle Gray, and Sea Salt Blue.
The vehicle is 162.8 inches long, just a tad longer than BYD's Dolphin, and offers two battery options - 30.12 kWh and 40.16 kWh, sourced from CATL. The CLTC range, which is typically very optimistic, siets at 193 miles and 255 miles, respectively.
The interior offers a relatively large central screen, while the infotainment system is provided by Meizu's Flyme Auto OS, which isn't surprising given that Meizu is owned by Geely as well.
When the back seats are folded, there is 1,320 L of luggage space, while the frunk offers 70 L of volume.
Even though Geome hasn't announced the pricing, the low-cost EV is expected to be around the RMB 80,000 ($11,000) mark, which is even lower than the BYD Dolphin currently going for RMB 99,800 ($13,900).
