Here's our first look at the second generation Dacia Spring

Dacia

Today Dacia has officially revealed the name of its next all-electric vehicle, and it's going to be called Spring just like the previous one. The second generation Spring will be made in Europe in the same factory that will make the new Renault Twingo, and the new Spring will probably be based on that model. Here's the brand's teaser video showing bits and pieces of the upcoming car's exterior.

Dacia says the new Spring "opens a new chapter for the brand while building on the continuity of a model that has become a benchmark". The brand has also released the image you can see below, showing a part of the new car's rear.

Dacia sold more than 210,000 units of the original Spring, introduced in 2021 and facelifted not long ago. The new Spring will have four "real seats" and "a proper boot", keeping the "universal and instantly recognizable name" which "evokes the spring season" that is "a symbol of renewal and positive energy", the official press release says.

According to media reports from Dacia's home of Romania, the brand intends to keep the facelifted first generation Spring on sale alongside the new model until demand for the older car fully dries up.

This hints at the fact that the new Spring will be more expensive, otherwise there would be no point in keeping the old model around, but we are obviously very far from an actual price reveal. We'll let you know when more information becomes available.
