Polestar Hertz

Polestar and Hertz just announced a new partnership with Hertz agreeing to buy 65,000 Polestar EVs in the next 5 years. The initial orders will be for Polestar 2 with the first cars available to rent from Hertz beginning this spring.

Hertz to buy 65,000 Polestar EVs

This is a significant partnership for Polestar, their sales from last year reached 29,000 and they set a target of 65,000 cars sold for the year 2022. Their plan is to sell 290,000 new models by 2025 which the Hertz agreement is going to surely help with.

There is no word yet on how the purchase will be split between the models, the first vehicles in the fleet will be Polestar 2, but once the new Polestar 3 becomes available later this year Hertz will most likely include it in their fleet. As for Polestar 4 and 5 which are supposed to reach the market in 2023 and 2024 - we can only hope that we’ll see them at our local Hertz office.
