Honda

If you are in the EV or smartphone news cycle, you can't possibly have missed the Sony-Honda joint venture that aims to deliver a smart EV in the very near future. Now Sony posted a short YouTube teaser, that the two companies will give us a glimpse of how far they've come during CES 2023.

Although the joint venture was only officially formed in the spring of this year, the two firms have been working on the project for some time now. It was just the formality of announcing the Sony Honda Mobility name.

The teasers themselves don't reveal anything apart from small bits of the car, which in turn suggests that we will get to see an actual vehicle on the stage. The date is January 4 2023, during CES 2023 in Las Vegas.

Earlier rumors suggest that Sony will focus on the infotainment and entertainment systems inside the car, including the ability to watch movies and play PS5 games, while Honda will use its years-long expertise in car building. In fact, the upcoming EV will be serviced by Honda's dealers.

However, the first Sony Honda car is planned to hit the road in the distant 2026, with Japan being the first market.
