Stellantis just released the final episode of its "Master the impossible" series, where the new Jeep Compass 4xe shows off its off-road capabilities on various terrains. The last episode takes us into the deep, snowy and icy roads of Arjeplog, Sweden. The promo video shows the 4xe configuration of the Compass overcoming various challenging off-road trails.

One of the key features that allows the Compass 4xe to move so confidently on the slippery roads is the fine-tuning of the two electric motors. The front axle gets a 157-kW motor, while the back accommodates a 132-kW motor. A separate electronic system keeps the balance between the two in check and adjusts the power output in real time.

Additionally, the Snow mode that Jeep's Selec-Terrain system provides adjusts the transmission, throttle and all of the 4x4 system settings to prevent tire slip and maintain performance.

Selec-Terrain is Jeep's proprietary feature that offers five driving modes, depending on the weather and road conditions. You get to choose from Auto, Sport, Sand and Mud, Snow and 4WD Lock. Jeep's "Master the impossible" series is all about that - showcasing the various driving modes in the most extreme conditions.

The Snow mode, which is under the spotlight here, uses about 80% of the vehicle's maximum power in order to provide smooth driving. The fine-tuned traction control and ESP, along with the always-engaged AWD system, provide much-needed balance and excellent slip control.
