Kia

Back in April, Kia announced that it would bring the EV4 sedan to the US in the first quarter of 2026. If you've been patiently waiting for the moment when you can order one, we have some very bad news.

The EV4 sedan's US launch is now "delayed until further notice", the brand says. Here's what a Kia spokesperson had to say:

Kia’s full range of vehicles offers meaningful value and inspiring performance to customers. However, as market conditions for EVs have changed, the release of the upcoming EV4 electric sedan will be delayed until further notice.

The company hasn't explained the reasoning behind this decision, but it's pretty easy to assume that the end of the federal tax credit is probably to blame, combined with uncertainty regarding tariffs.

Hopefully Kia will eventually bring the EV4 sedan to the US, but it's not happening in early 2026, that's for sure. And it may never happen since these sorts of 'indefinitely delayed' announcements sometimes are meant to soften the blow of an all-out cancellation. Only time will tell.

There are 2 versions: hatchback (made in Slovakia) and fastback (Korea). KIA is still using 400V and the tires are custom made. The heatpump is optional, you have to pay extra if you want it.

Yeah the back is just horrible, meanwhile the hatchback is really nice. Usually sedans are easier to design with a flowy transition front-to-back, but this time something went very wrong...

What a horrid design. Looks like a transfusion between two cars. You should have done better Kia.
