Kia

Today, LG has proudly boasted about its webOS-based Automotive Content Platform (ACP) powering in-car streaming for Kia's EV3 in European markets. The EV3 will be joined by the upcoming EV4 and EV5 in using this platform.

The ACP was first deployed in Korea, home to both Kia and LG, and following its success over there, it's now arrived in Europe. It runs on webOS, which is the OS inside 240 million LG smart TVs.

ACP is obviously automotive-optimized, offering drivers and passengers "instant access to a wide array of content and services, tailored specifically for the in-car environment", LG says.

As you'd expect, the platform lets you stream your favorite content onto the car's infotainment display, "delivering an experience comparable to that of a smartphone or smart TV", while adhering to safety regulations as the streaming function is only available when parked.

The app options include Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, LG Channels, Baby Shark World for Kids, Stingray Karaoke, Play.Works, Haystack News and Vasari, and "later this year" Rakuten TV, Napster, and Joyn will also be supported.

I would like to see more competition but if my phone came with "Baby Shark World for Kids" I think I would go insane.
