Li Auto

Li Auto, an emerging giant in the electric vehicle market, has just finished an extensive upgrade to its production facility, preparing the company for what seems to be a busy end to the year. With this capacity expansion, the automaker's CEO projects monthly deliveries to skyrocket past 40,000 units in the upcoming fourth quarter.

This upgrade to Li Auto's innovative manufacturing in Changzhou sets the groundwork for the anticipated surge in vehicle deliveries by year's end.

A drawing board displayed in the broadcast on Chinese CCTV hinted at the company's monthly capacity reaching 49,500 units per month in the fourth quarter.

Li Xiang, the founder, chairman, and CEO of Li Auto, anticipates the company's monthly deliveries to exceed 40,000 units. This prediction doesn't seem far-fetched, especially with the company's current offerings, including the five-seater Li L7 and the six-seater models, Li L8 and Li L9. Each of these vehicles belongs to the Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) category, serving as a bridge between traditional vehicles and pure electric cars.

Before the comprehensive overhaul, the company's highest weekly production was just 7,500 units. With the new upgrades, CEO Li revealed in June that the weekly capacity could surge to 10,000 units by the last quarter of this year, with the same double-shift production on both its lines.

As of October 1, Li Auto announced 36,060 vehicle deliveries for September, marking an impressive 212.72% growth year-over-year. This achievement also denotes the sixth consecutive month of record deliveries for the company and brings their Q3 numbers to 105,108 vehicles. Odds are that record will only stand until the Q4 numbers are out.
