NIO expands the network of battery swapping stations in Norway

NIO

NIO doesn’t have showrooms, the company has NIO Houses. The entire approach is more customer-focused and puts a lot of effort on family friendly surroundings where the car is not the main point. Yet at the same time the car is a very important part of that human-centric approach. It works really well with customers being generally positively surprised and NIO’s brand image is becoming very positive. That is one way to make a newcomer stand out in a busy market.

NIO opened its first House in Oslo last year and it has just announced it found the perfect location for its second House in Bergen. NIO’s customers were first to find out as the news was delivered through NIO’s app. The new House will come with 312 square meters of space and it will be ready around October this year. The company announced that before this year is up it will have four new NIO Houses up and running for customers to enjoy the brand experience.

NIO is still a relatively new company in Europe and in Norway it employs 70 people but it plans to add another 100 by the end of the year. It just opened its first NIO Service Center two weeks ago while it was celebrating the delivery of its 500th vehicle to Norway. NIO expansion plans include having 20 battery swap stations in Norway by the end of 2022 with 2 new stations opening soon in Bergen and one in Vestby.

Sales staff have a relatively easy life at NIO since the company does not enforce any sales targets, at this stage NIO wants to ensure the customers get equally high quality service as the Chinese customers get and this strategy is paying off with the sales numbers slowly growing. We have reviewed the NIO ET7 and found it to be a very capable EV with the ES8 being the first SUV company has brought to Europe.
