In the US, Tesla has started offering an Acceleration Boost for the new Model Y. It can be purchased for $2,000 in the Tesla app, and allegedly adds about 100 hp, letting the car go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, compared to 4.6 seconds without this package.
That's not a huge improvement, granted, but for those who are still patiently waiting for the new Model Y Performance, it could be a way to make them stop waiting and get the Long Range All Wheel Drive (LR AWD) version and then purchase the Acceleration Boost to get close.

It adds about 100hp and reduces 0-60s time from 4.6s to 4.2s. It’s probably the best value in automotive performance on the market. pic.twitter.com/fhybdbajHB
Right now, Tesla is still only selling the new Model Y in LR AWD form in the US, even though rumors had claimed we'd also see an RWD model and the Performance version.
In the old times, if you bought a Foo that could do X, you could do X. No more! Another fine example of Tesla Innovation.
Soon Tesla will ask to pay for a car and then you need to pay extra to drive it
Yay! Unlocks for stuff that is already in the car you have purchased... fuck this shit! Fuck this company too!
